The Enso Clock is an innovative new meditation/yoga timer and clock. It allows for interval timing in which the user can set sequential timers that run one-after-the-other to compose an overall session. At the end of each interval or timer, one of several available soothing chimes is played. The Enso Clock's chimes are recorded from Tibetan and Japanese singing bowls as used in traditional meditation sessions. Using the latest audio technology, the Enso Clock's reproduction of the singing bowl chimes is very high quality and virtually indistinguishable from original. In addition to countdown timing, the Enso Clock can be used as an alarm clock, featuring the same soothing chimes. Enso, which means "circle" in Japanese, symbolizes enlightenment, elegance, and the universe. Traditionally, the enso is painted with a single clockwise brushstroke, beginning and ending at the bottom. The central display feature of Salubrion's new clock is the Enso that surrounds the screen and is gradually brushed on-screen as the timer progresses. This way, the user can glance at the Enso and see the relative amount of time that has elapsed, eliminating the distraction of focusing on the exact numerical time that remains. The Enso Clock can be placed flat on the floor in front of you for use during seated meditation, or propped up using the elegant hinged stand that folds out of the back of the clock. Each Enso Clock also includes a convenient carrying case with an integrated cleaning cloth that both protects and polishes. Specifications: Diameter: 3.8 inches / Thickness: 0.8 inches / Includes 2 AAA batteries

I just received the Enso Timer. It is exactly as described. The included instructions were easy to follow (Salubrion also has instructions available on its website; these are very detailed, clear and easy to follow).

I tested all chimes. They are crisp and clear. I was able to set intervals for my meditation sessions and also for my 10 minute exercise sets.

A zippered pouch is also included (this pouch carries the clock and the instruction manual).

I think the overall design is quite efficient considering what this timer was designed for. It is a little pricey, but comparable to the price for other timers in this class.......

Customer Buzz

I was pleasantly surprised to receive my Meditation timer so quickly!!! Programing it was super easy and quick!! The little book that came with it totally walks you thru the set up and tweeking. I adjusted the timer to my liking also. It also cam with a nice little padded case for it. I totally recommend this product to anyone with meditation practices that have more than one interval in them.. Program your intervals and forget about the clock and go deep!! Enjoy!!......

Customer Buzz

I bought the clock strictly for meditation. It has served that purpose well. I should note that the instructions that accompany the product are not user friendly - a verbal version of Rubik's cube. However, satisfactory instructions are now available on the company's website. I echo earlier reviews which note that the so-called back lighting is not very good (it must be due to a power saver function). However, this has not been an issue for me since I refrain (for the most part) from glancing at the clock during my meditation sessions.......

Customer Buzz

Outrageously complicated. I wanted to set up three different interval timers for meditation. The enclosed instructions were useless. Enso has extended instructions online, but those didn't help either. I am a computer analyst, but I ain't willing to spend weeks trying to sort it out. If you buy one, please set it up (or try to) immediatly, while you can still return it.......

Customer Buzz

This is a great little clock/timer. Easy to use and understand the directions..Very nice chime sound. I think it is a bit pricey but really cool. I am very glad I bought it.......

The clock is supposed to connect to the Atomic clock in Colorado so it always has the correct time. This feature just did not work. The manual provides instructions to set the clock manually if the automatic time feature does not work, but I just returned it. I don't know why the automatic time feature did not work for me or how often this occurs. However, the manual was not helpful and contained no troubleshooting tips.......

Customer Buzz

I bought this for my 75 year old mother and she said the light from the display lit up her room and she could not fall asleep. There is no way to dim this light. I read reviews before I purchashed this radio that also complained about the light and I should have listened. This radio was returned.......

Customer Buzz

Overall satisfied with this alarm clock. Only wish it had a backup battery in case the power goes out! Also, the reception for the atomic clock is not too hot. ......

Customer Buzz

Works as it should, the only issue is it is way more complicated than it should be.. After all it as just a clock radio... After you figure out how it works it does just what it is supposed to....Keep accurate time, and wake you up in the morning....

All in all recommended for the price it is a good and reasonably attractive clock radio.......

Customer Buzz

The clock is great Ive set the alarm once and never have to deal with it again. Also loved it when the time changed and i didnt have to do anything because it self adjusted. The only downside is that it took a long time get the right time of day when i first got it, like 2 hrs.......

great concept- 100's of free internet radio stations now to wake up to- no more glaring, tacky, screaming ads or pop-junk music to start my day! Can't believe no one thought of this sooner! Sound is quite decent too- almost good, especially compared to what you typically get for an am/fm radio alarm clock. Only a couple of big criticisms. Screen is kind of old-fashioned etch-a-sketch style display- wish it was colored led #'s etc.... & the screen is just WAY too bright to sleep with and not adjustable to a low enough brightness level-(really, it's like a flashlight! at night) I need to completely cover it up to sleep, but then I cannot glance at the time when I wake up in the middle of the night- disconcerting. Also, the alarm settings are cumbersome to access . All that said, I'd definitely still buy this again-there's nothing else out there I've seen even close to this functionality for the price. Small footprint is nice, attractive overall design. Hopefully they will listen to these issues & design a better follow-up model. I'll definitely upgrade.......

Customer Buzz

I purchased this radio for my husband's birthday after he saw the ad in Smithsonian Magazine. He loves it and I couldn't have been more pleased. Initially we had a little problem with connectivity. I contacted Aluratek's customer service. They were very friendly and helpful. Turned out if was an issue with our wireless network configuration.

The CNET review commented on sound quality being a draw back for this item. But we have found the sound quality to be quite adequate and pleasant......afterall it's a $100 clock radio; if you want a Bose Wave Radio, you have to pay for a Bose Wave Radio!

We love the option to connect this to our component system and plug in a MP3 player. You can also select FM stations if you pefer.

If you're looking for a fun internet radio that lets you access global music and news radio, then you found it.......

Customer Buzz

I bought this item based on a review written in the December issue of MacWorld magazine.

The immediate problem was with the instructions (which were no doubt written by French engineers) Not a good sign. After several attempts to configure the initial set up, the clock times would vary day-to-day, from 1913 to 2l07,!?!

The sound quality was marginal, at best. On the plus side, the FM reception was better than expected.

Maybe I got a defective one. That said, this product did not live up to my expectations; plus, the set-up was a PITA. ......

Customer Buzz

This Internet radio have all the features I need. It is multimediaplayer in one plus audio outputs and inputs. Everything works but connectivity with PC I have not tryed yet. Internet radio is in use every day and it works fine as a wired client (connected to internet connection by RJ45 network cable).
I woukld give it 5 stars with no problem but I must be cautios because this unit is produced in China. Hope it works fine in coming years.

I recomend this product. I am satisfied with it completely!......

Customer Buzz

This radio only supports MP3 and WMA formats, which means you can't listen to some major stations like the BBC which streams in AAC, or anything that streams RealAudio.

Other drawbacks include a fairly cumbersome menu system, and only one speaker which means you'll be listening in mono unless you connect it to a stereo system using an RCA cable.

It does a reasonably good job playing the stations it does receive, and the built in speaker doesn't sound bad except as I mentioned, it's mono.

Bottom line, I love the idea of a standalone Internet radio, but I wouldn't buy this one again.......

Very good functional item. I like the easy to use and very nicely displayed dual alarm funtion. I wake up to a CD on alarm 1 and by the time I am out of the shower I am getting the local traffic and news on alarm 2. Some reviews complaned about the sound output! I bought this to wake me up, I have a 6 speaker sound system for mega sound output. For me, this is the best CD Clock Radio I have ever had. ......

Customer Buzz

I've now had this and been using it for about a year. It works perfectly but has two annoying design issues that have been slowly grinding on me enough that I'm now looking for a replacement. The display has 3 preset light levels and the lowest makes my dark bedroom glow at night and the button to turn off the alarm is the second small button from the top on the right of the clock (you can see it if you look closely at the picture). The light may not bother some people but I like a dark bedroom and from experience I can tell you it is not easy to find the alarm off button if you've had a late night. If these two items don't bother you, I'd recommend buying this as everything else works as advertised. ......

Customer Buzz

Everyone seems to love Sony well i think they suck. speaker is very tiny and tinny sounding pop out drawer is flimsy and its overpriced for the quality it is Same Old Sony CRAP......

Customer Buzz

I bought this last week at Best Buy ($64.95 + Fl Tax). Which was about the same price I'd have paid through Amazon. I read complaints regarding the other Sony iPhone clock (looks the same but also has a CD player)saying the display was way too bright despite 2 or 3 brightness settings. This clock's lowest setting is perfect for me, dim enough to not be disturbing, but certainly bright enough to see at night. The numbers are also nice and large so there's no problem seeing them without my glasses.
The iPhone functionality is good. I can dock my iPhone without removing the rubber case. The alarm can be a buzzer, radio or iPhone. The buzzer sound is not real loud. Loud enough for me, but some might sleep through it. Its a progressive interval beep, which starts off slow, and then gets faster (ie more annoying).
The sound is so-so. Not real important for me, but may be for some people. It is a tiny speaker after all. There is a back-up battery so power outages dont mess up the time/alarm settings. The remote might be useful for some who use it to listen to music with (just another useless remote in my drawer for me). The set-up is fairly straight forward (I'm not big on actually reading instructions). Its a bit tough getting to the alarm shut-off until you get used to it. Its the front button right at the 3O-clock position.

Over all I'm giving it 4 stars. I think its a bit pricey, but not pricey enough to buy another one for my wife. It certainly declutters the night stand a bit.
Oh yea, and a bounus if you have any of the apps like Sirius/AM or pocket tunes, you can get all your favorite sat radio stations on your alarm clock. I dont think you can program it to launch on wake-up, but other than than it adds a bit of flexibilty to your sat radio listening.......

Customer Buzz

This is a great clock! It charges my iPhone with no problems and despite the small single speaker, has a surprisingly good sound. Not audiophile quality, but certainly not tinny. Pleasant listening. Radio works great too.

I am VERY nearsighted, but the display is large enough for me to see on my nightstand. It's been difficult to find a clock with a large display that also was not too bright. The display supports three different brightness levels, so it's not too bright at night.

My only concern is with the sliding docking tray. Feels a bit flimsy, but I suspect that won't be a problem. Most people really won't slide it in and out, so I wish they'd designed it with a fixed docking station.

Despite having a plastic DLO cover on my iPhone, there is no problem docking the phone. I am not using any of the docking adapters that came with the clock. Works fine without them.

Controls are easy to operate and setting up alarm functions is quite simple. Users can set two separate alarms (A & B) and customize for weekdays. weekends, or 7 days a week. The controls for the A & B alarms are located on opposite sides of the clock on the sides and I like that they are totally separated to reduce accidents.

There are two models made by Sony. This one does NOT have a CD player. I didn't want one. If you DO want the CD player, look at Sony ICFCD3iP CD Clock Radio for iPod and iPhone (Silver)

Highly Recommend!!......

Customer Buzz

I wanted to add a quick note about this clock radio because most of the other reviews for clock radios don't address the issue that was the most important to me- the strength of the antenna. I was looking for an alarm clock that would get better reception in our bedroom than the one we presently own. This clock is able to pick-up stations that are either too fuzzy to hear or don't even come in on our current clock.

I also like that the iPod dock slides out, so that I don't have a large piece of machinery sitting on my bedside table! I am very pleased with this clock radio and my husband is going to be thrilled on Father's Day!......

Customer Buzz

I needed a CD player/ipod player/radio/clock combo so I could listen to yoga and relaxation music in a room adjacent to our bedroom. This item exceeded my expectations! Not only did it do all it claimed, I also could plug in my old mini-disc player through its audio in! Since it's not next to my bed, the light it emits is a perfect nightlight glow so I can see my way in the dark. I actually took it with me in the camper and it was absolutely perfect! It's so rare for me to find something that I am totally pleased with these days. There's so much junk out there...

GET IT! YOU'LL LOVE IT!......

Ever since the introduction of the first and only 7-day alarm clock in December 2004, American Innovative has been logging feature requests and product improvement suggestions from our customers. Nearly every aspect of the neverlate executive is fully customizable. We've introduced the concept of alarm banks - three in all. The two 7-day banks provide two, completely independent seven-day wake schedules - his and hers for example. In addition, we've included a daily reminder bank. We are also pleased to introduce the first-ever preferences menu in a clock radio. Everything from the backlight brightness, to the alarm duration is fully adjustable. Wake to NPR news at 7:00am weekdays, your Saturday morning talk show on a different station and the buzzer on Sunday. There's no other clock radio in the world with this capability. Line-in, headphone jack and more - a powered USB port on the back accommodates an electric fan or laptop boom lamp. Each time you hit the snooze button the snooze time is cut in half until finally the neverlate executive won't let you snooze any more. You can even disable the tempting snooze button.

Customer Buzz

Alarm clocks are very important to me. I'm not a morning person. So let me start by listing the things that I *don't* like about this product.

1. No syncing with WWVB - you'd think for this price they could make it "atomic."
2. Radio reception is awful - out of the box it was unlistenable. "fixed" it by putting a sheet of aluminum foil underneath it. seriously.
3. alarm doesn't go off if the power is out - battery backup is for timekeeping only.
4. USB charging/power port is a neat feature, but it won't charge my Motorola cell phone.
5. Like others have reported, the dimmest display setting is a little on the bright side, but it hasn't kept me awake.
6. my "ultimate" alarm clock would have a relay output or switched outlet so that I could turn on a lamp when the alarm goes off (I take my sleeping seriously.) I've seen some very old clock/radios with this feature, but nothing resembling modern. wonder why?

That said, because of the 7-day programs, I have not once since I got this clock forgotten to set my alarm clock, nor have I been rudely awakened at zero-dark-hundred hours on a Saturday morning because I forgot to "unset" it. Once it's set up, unless your schedule changes, you're good. I held off on reviewing this for a while after I got it to see if I had any of the reliability problems that earlier users reported, and as of yet I have had none. The one I got was one that shipped after they came off of backorder earlier this year (2009) sounds like maybe they fixed their issues?

My previous alarm clock was a battery-powered "atomic" alarm clock from Target. The main reason I ditched it for an AC-powered clock was that the alarm beep just wasn't loud enough. The Neverlate Executive is good in that regard, I just hope I don't have a power failure the morning of an important meeting... (I'm actually seriously considering cutting the buzzer out of an old UPS and running my alarm clock off a UPS so as to avoid that worry.)......

Customer Buzz

When looking for a new bedside clock, I was amazed at just how difficult it is to find a really good, modern one that ISN'T an iPod dock. It seems like very little has changed over the last 20 years, despite how cheap and easy current technology would make it to implement some wonderful improvements. (Yes, I'm an engineer- I think a lot about these things.)
That said, this isn't quite the modern clock I was hoping to find.. but some thoughtful design puts this a step out of the pack in the right direction. It's surprisingly configurable (you can adjust the snooze time, screen brightness, and a lot more), an interface that more or less actually makes sense, and I really appreciate the USB port on the back (though it's for power only- I charge my phone on it).
I'd say the biggest shortcoming is the screen. My previous clock had a LED screen, and I was disappointed by the switch to the side-lit LCD on this. The contrast isn't great- it's hard to read from across the room and harder to read when I've just woken and eyes aren't focusing right yet. The narrow viewing angle also seems adjusted for looking down at it- when your head is level with it (as in laying in bed), it looks significantly faded. It also produces more 'glow' in a dark room. Still, this does its job well.......

Customer Buzz

After years of selling the most perfect alarm clock ever,American Innovative Neverlate 7-Day Alarm Clock American Innovative has done it again - they've upgraded the clock to an Executive Model. It now has buttons instead of knobs, and it has an adapter to take an Mp3 Player (iPod), but beneath the skin, it's still the amazing little (5" cube) alarm clock that could.

Almost everything about this clock can be ustoized to make you happy. A few of the reviews criticize that, but think about it - how many alarm clocks give you separate alarms for each day, set you up for a midday nap in just a few seconds and take up so little room on your nightstand? For the longest time, it was the predecessor of this clock, but now you have a choice. We've been delighted with the old version for what seems like forever, and we bought the kid this version when she went off to college. Now she's as big a fan of the clock as we are.

If you are a person with fluctuating work schedules, or if you're part of a couple where both people work, then you need this clock. If you work from home (lucky dog!) and can sneak in a nap in the afternoon, then this is the clock for you. Or choose its predecessor, which lacks a few bells and whistles, but is a darned good clock, nonetheless. It may not be the prettiest clock on Earth, and you will have to spend a few minutes reading the manual (or the "Quick-Start manual) to learn what you need to do when you set up the clock for the first time, but the utter happiness you'll get from having a clock that does everything but make your breakfast will sell you on the Best Alarm Clock in the World.......

Customer Buzz

I've been hunting for a new alarm clock since my Polk iSonic died a couple of months back. I had a few requirements, none of which could I find in a single alarm clock to my satisfaction, but this unit comes closest. After reading all the reviews, I was a little hesitant to spend $50 (Amazon's price as of this review) on it, but I'm glad I did.

Pros:
-This is an insanely customizable alarm clock. You can set up something like 21 different, independent alarms on this thing, each with a different buzzer or radio preset. You can set separate alarms for each day of the week.

-It has gradual wake capability. This is crucial in my book. As I don't get to sleep on a regular schedule, sometimes I wake up quickly at the first inkling of a noise from the alarm clock. Other times, it has to be going pretty loudly for a bit to get me awake. The gradual wake feature slowly ramps up the volume of the alarm over a few seconds rather than hitting like a sledgehammer instantly. In the interim after losing the iSonic (which had this feature), I lived with a Sony clock that was generally very good, but didn't have this gradual wake feature (and a couple of other bothers). I found that I was generally more tired and had a harder time getting going in the mornings when so abruptly shocked out of slumber.

-Nap function. This is something you don't see much on alarms. This lets you set a quickie alarm timer that counts down from your preferred starting point with 5-min increments of time. Fabulous for catching a power nap or recharging yourself. It's sort of the opposite of a "sleep" function that turns off the radio after a selectable number of minutes (which this also has).

-Date display. I've never had an alarm clock that also showed the date. I've heard of them, but never owned one. Minor plus, but a plus. A byproduct of having day-by-day alarm sets.

-Small size. It's actually much smaller than I expected it to be. It's about the size of the old Sony cube "Dream Machine" alarms.

-Informative display. It has a lot of data on display at one time, if necessary, and I find this useful.

-Lots of clever features. Too many to really go into here, but this was a generally well thought-out alarm clock.

Cons:

-Complexity. With great power comes great need to read the instructions. This is not a straightforward, easy to set up alarm clock. It's a pain in the rear to turn this nob, push this button, twist that dial, etc. just to move your alarm time up or back by a bit. It's easier just to have a couple of preset alarms and toggle them both off/on as needed. There really should just be a simple A/B alarm mode to quickly disable one and enable the other (or both). It'd be quicker than setting up individual days.

-Cheaply built. This thing is not confidence inspiring. It's all plastic, goofy looking, and kinda cheap feeling. The color selection doesn't help this much. I don't think it'd just chuck it in the back of the car along with the rest of your junk as you move from dorm room to dorm room and expect it to survive for long. One other reviewer complained about the ring used to set various things by rotating it. Yes, it's a little stiff, but I found it perfectly functional and not too stiff. I am not sure if this is because mine is built a little looser or if it's personal preference. Another reviewer mentioned that the display would "glitch" out on him if he pressed the dial/knob/buttons on top. Mine doesn't do this. It is very suggestive that the build quality is not that good from unit to unit.

-Sound quality. Um, well, it's kinda not good. I know one of the other reviewers said it was good/better than he expected, but it's still pretty darn bad. I've listened to a lot of cheaper iPod docs and iPod dock/alarm combos (that I also cross-shopped with this) and I haven't found one of them that cost more than $30 that didn't sound a whole lot better than this thing. There is no bass to speak of, though the midrange and highs aren't horrendous. It isn't the sort of thing that tempts you to just lay in bed and listen to music on it. Maybe that's a good thing in a device that's supposed to get you out of bed. It's not horrendous, just not up to par with it's $60 MSRP. Not even close.

-Brightness. It's too bright, even on the lowest setting. It could be worse, and it's manageable (and not as bad as some alarms), but it's certainly quite a bit brighter than I'd personally prefer (I like my room very dark).

It's really surprising that, given the obvious amount of thought that went into this little box, they messed up on some of the more obvious things.

Overall, I like this clock. If the negatives above aren't a big deal to you, definitely check it out. If this is a bit steep of a price for you, I'd highly recommend a little Sony gem, the ICF-C180 which can also be found on Amazon. It's got an even brighter display, and no gradual wake, which were deal-breakers for me, but it's a great little alarm clock, too, with a lot of customizability yet is much more rugged and easier to use/set.......

Customer Buzz

At some point it just quit working, about 1 day after the 90 days passed. I can't believe I spent so much money on such a wholly worthless alarm clock.

The "Activate alarms" & "all off" are now Wednesday & Thursday now or something.

Please just buy yourself 7 regular alarm clocks or something.......
